The best roulette strategy for beginners is first, to learn the game. The first time I stepped up to the roulette table i didn't know how to play, or why the dealer gave me a dirty look as i dragged my money off the table while the 'marker' was still on a number I learned quickly to be patient until the marker was removed. This is all part of the roulette experience, so for you beginners out there who feel too intimidated to step up to the table, relax. After reading this blog you will be able to confidently place those chips on a winning number.
Most likely if your playing in the U.S you will play on a Roulette table with a 0 and 00. This is called the American Roulette table, its the standard table used in most of the casinos in U.S. as opposed to the European Table which only has the one 0. The great thing about American Roulette is that the position of the numbers on the wheel allow you to use a Roulette Strategy called "sectioning" where you split the wheel into four and bet only in one particular section, but that will be explained in detail in another post.
The object of roulette is to place chips on a number that will supposedly hit. Some people like to bet on their favorite numbers, or birthdays, or bet on sections or colors, it really depends on how that strategy has worked before. Now let's see how the game is played. There is a ball that spins around a the roulette wheel that will eventually drop into a number, to win you need to have a chip on that number. There are different ways of winning on a number, you can place a chip 'straight up' or directly on a number, you can 'split' the chip or place it in between two numbers-if either of these numbers hit you are a winner; you can also put a chip on the 'corners' which will split four different numbers-you will win if any of those numbers hit. You can also bet on a 'street' which covers three numbers or 'split a street' which covers six numbers. Now the more numbers you cover with one chip the less money you make but this is something that you can experiment with as you get more and more familiar with roulette.
Some other good things to know when approaching a table is to-
1. Never lean on the glass surrounding the roulette wheel.
2. The roulette table usually has its own chips, so you'll need to buy in at least $20, and you will get a stack of twenty 1 dollar chips.
3. After the ball starts rolling you will only have a couple of seconds to place your chips, once the dealers waves her hand over the table, no more bets can be made, and if you try he/she will probably fling the chip at your face.
4. The dealer has a little object called a 'marker' that is placed on top of the winning number, when this 'marker' is on the table no new bets can be made, and money that is paid out cannot be collected; once it is removed players can bet and remove their winnings.
5. Lastly, don't take the roulette chips away from the table when you are done playing, they are not worth anything at the cage or another table game, you will need to exchange them with the dealer before leaving for the chips that have value.
Roulette is an exciting game that is like a roller coaster ride, sometimes you always win and sometimes is a down hill battle; but with the right roulette strategy you can make roulette an interesting game that may profit you in the end.
